Online writing communities like this one helped me get my start in writing. It started for me  on an online community called WritingUp (which no longer exists) where writers blogged together and shared feedback and helpful resources with one another on blogging and writing in general. There I met Suzanne James (owner of this site), Sharon Hurley Hall, Nikki Leigh, and other community members and it helped me learn a lot about how to develop my writing career. Having an online ‘tribe’ can help you in numerous ways when you’re working from home and want interaction, mentoring, and when you’re missing a water cooler atmosphere for shooting the breeze with.l

There are many different places online where writers can gather, learn, self-promote, network…

I’ve just published a hub about this very topic: Online Writing Communities

Whether you’re just getting started at writing or are a seasoned pro, you can definitely benefit from networking with other writers. It has made a huge difference in my own freelance writing career.
