Inspirational Novels

“I find the television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.” Groucho Marx

Isn’t this a great quote? It describes me perfectly!

There’s nothing better than a hot bubble bath and a great Inspirational novel after a long, hard day. Any inspirational story that highlights people overcoming adversity or reaching new levels of understanding lifts my heart and my spirit. And I love reading a story that gives glory to God.

Over the years I’ve enjoyed books by many fine inspirational authors such as Ted Dekker, Frank Peretti, Karen Kingsbury, Hannah Alexander, Terri Blackstock, Jan Karon and Beverly Lewis to name a few. But when I discovered historical fiction I was hooked!

It started a few years ago with Janette Oke’s “Love Come Softly” series. After devouring the eight book set, I searched for more authors in that genre. To my delight I’ve discovered Kristen Heitzmann, Tracie Peterson, Lauraine Snelling and Tamera Alexander and I love to get lost in their stories! :)

Which inspirational books/and or authors do you enjoy?

Hi Margie!

I agree, there is nothing more uplifting than reading a book (fiction or non-fiction) that gives God glory.

Do you ever read Christian or Inspirational books by authors outside of the traditional CBA genres?

Just curious. :-)

Hi Pam,

Actually I have not read any authors outside of the traditional CBA genres.

But I'm interested in "expanding my horizons" and will check out some other genres soon. Yours included! :)

Thanks for commenting!
