A Tale of Two Girls

While Russ and I were selling our books in Louisville this past weekend, we met two young girls.

The first operated a gun accessory business with her brother. She was in middle school. Both of them were home schooled. She took horseback riding lessons once a week and he took fencing lessons. Both of them were wonderful kids. I just hope my grandchildren grow up to be like them.

Their father came with them. It was a Christian family and the kids went to a Christian camp for an entire month each year.

The other girl was a bit younger and visiting the show with her father. They stopped to talk. It turned out that she had had a twin brother but he had died of leukemia. She missed him very much as did her dad. When I asked how they were making it through the grieving process, her dad looked at her and said, "she is my strength. Without her I would not make it."

Both of these girls will remain in my memory for years.
