Hi Dyan and thank you for being here!

I love the subject of your new book Money and Manifesting. So many people find themselves deep in debt or in a financial rut and don't know how to get themselves out of it.

What makes your book different from others on this subject?

My book is very different. My book is for all of those for whom The Secret isn’t working. The authors and teachers of The Secret recently resurrected the principles of the laws of attraction, because at this time these things need to resonate as truth in our collective consciousness as a basic foundation for moving forward. However, we now have many people out there trying to implement these ancient truths; and it isn’t working for them. My book is not about the Law of Attraction. It’s about why the Law of Attraction by itself isn’t enough. And it’s about exactly what to do about it. It’s about what’s missing from The Secret. Utilizing the Law of Attraction is only one step toward manifesting. Parts of my book are fictionalized too. So there is a very good story here and it’s one where people can see themselves and their patterns reflected. When we can identify with something, we then have a springboard for growth and change. I wrote it the way I wrote it for a very good reason. My entire body of work is about automatic energy shift and opening and clearing pathways for energy to travel. So, when you’re done reading the book, you’ve already taken your first step toward manifesting.

Do you have a favorite success story you'd like to share about someone who's read your book and improved their finances?

My book was just released in February 2008, but yes I have a story. I have a client that was just really stuck financially. She said to me, “In keeping with what I learned in The Secret, I wrote myself a check for 10 million dollars. I wrote myself a deposit slip. I look at this every day. I visualize, I think positive thoughts about it, and….nothing happens. Why can’t I make any money?” I told her first of all it’s because we don’t “make” money. We create and open a pathway for the energy of money to flow. Further, no matter how high of a number 10 million seems to you, you effectively have now created “limitation” rather than flow. Then too, you’re very attached to the outcome of receiving 10 million. You put a lot of energy on that every day. So you have just told the universe what to do and how to do it. You’re trying to control how things show up for you. You’re demanding, not co-creating. What you’re really doing is “negative manifesting.” And in order for anything to come back to you, you also have to let go and detach. So, when she finished reading the book, she called me and said, “I get it! I felt my whole entire energy just shift!” She didn’t know at the time that the book was designed to do just that. It was an automatic shift, which is what is supposed to happen. And since then, she’s now on the path to creating what she desires not just financially, but in every area of her life. That was my goal when I wrote the book.

I was over on your site www.dyangarris.com and loved it. You have a wonderful variety of CDs and book. The Voice of the Angels cards are also intriguing.

Thank you! That is one of my many sites. The main site is www.voiceoftheangels.com. There is so much going on there, including free angel card readings. And I write a Daily Channeled Message there as well. Everything I’ve created works together as integrative tools. People perceive change as “work.” I’ve tried to make it easy and pleasant.

How long have you been using your psychic abilities to help others and are you able to use your gifts in your own life? Many psychics find it hard to read for themselves.

It seems like I’ve been using them forever – professionally since I was in my early 20s. It’s hard to read for yourself primarily because you’re usually attached to the outcome. When reading for someone else, you have no attachment to the outcome. This doesn’t mean you don’t care, because you do care very much. It just means that you have no attachment either way, therefore the way you receive and/or interpret the information isn’t colored by the way you want something to turn out. You’re just bringing forth information. I can read for myself if I get out of my own way. If we understand that everything is a lesson in Love that brings us to a higher place, then it’s relatively easy to read for yourself. I know I can’t get out of my lessons anymore than anyone else can. These lessons are opportunity for transformation. You can take something you perceive as “bad” and use that to lift up your vibration rather than letting it keep you stuck.

Something readers always enjoy hearing about is something humorous. It shows that even if we're psychics, authors, speakers, or teachers, we're still very much real.

What's the most embarrassing, funny, or downright weird thing you've encountered on your professional path as a psychic and author?

I’m laughing! You wouldn’t believe what I’ve heard and encountered on my journey. There are so many interesting things in the universe and I’m definitely human. I’ve learned to laugh at myself and not take everything seriously. Things really get better if you stay in the moment of whatever you’ve chosen to do in that particular moment. I don’t really relate to “embarrassing” because that indicates that you’re taking your validation from the outside and I don’t. I can’t. I’m forward moving energy. We have to embrace ourselves completely even if we’re a little strange, different, or eccentric. But I do believe we have to keep our sense of humor, always.

Something really interesting happened when I first wrote A Healing Journey Guided Fantasy. After I wrote it in 1993, a friend of mine wanted to go on “the journey.” So I led her through it on the phone. There is a place in the meditation where you come to a mirror and you look inside it and receive answers. When we got there I asked her what she saw. She said she saw “Melody.” I asked her who Melody was, what she wanted, and what she was doing. She replied that Melody was just standing there in the mirror smiling and waving. Neither of us knew anyone named Melody. So we just proceeded on the journey wondering what that was about. Later when I was manifesting for the right person to collaborate musically with me on that project, it ended up being a woman named “Melody.” Her spirit must have known she belonged there long before I ever presented it to her on the physical plane. The whole experience taught me that this was larger than I could possibly have imagined at the time.

What's next for you? Are you currently working on a new book or CDs?

I don’t have any plans for any more books, but sometimes Spirit has its own ideas. I’m just finishing up with the building of my spiritual toolbox of integrative tools that people can use for growth and transformation. I’m currently working on a DVD and there will be one more CD that vibrates to, opens and clears the eighth chakra. People are used to working with basically seven chakras now, so this next project ought to be very interesting. Then the toolbox will be complete. I’m excited about that.
