The freelance writing life can be a challenge sometimes. Sometimes you don't have enough work; other times you have too much.

Sooner or later the day will come when it's time to decide whether writing is a hobby or a profession.

Freelance writing is a great job, but when you're ill there's no one to do your work for you. If that happens, you can either email your client and pass up a potentially lucrative job or work through it. Most self employed people take the latter option, simply because they have no choice. So how do you keep working without further damaging your health?

First of all, accept that you won't get everything done. Prioritize, and then send emails to the clients with whom you have a good track record asking to extend the deadline.
