How to Write a Historical Novel

I love the opportunity to share with other historical fiction fans. I hope to help every writer who is writing a historical novel to make the most of their researching, writing, and find a great publisher.

As an editor, author, critique group owner, and book reviewer, I see many problems, challenges, and misunderstandings that are unique to the historical genre. Writing a good historical novel requires lots of research, adherence to historical accuracy, a good understanding of the era, the sharing of resources, networking with other historical authors, and a whole lot more. An historical author must completely immerse themselves in the historical world.  This includes reading historical novels along in addition to textbooks of history, networking with others, researching, and writing with lots of description and accuracy.  I want to help you along the way.  I will try to delve into everything you need to know to help write a good, publishable historical novel.  I will also review historical novels.
